A new study released by the European Patent Office (EPO) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) shows that companies which own at least one patent, registered design or trademark have on average a better firm performance.
The report includes also an econometric analysis, which makes possible to isolate the effect of IPR ownership from other factors, such as the size of a firm or the Countries and sectors in which it operates. The results confirm the positive connection between IPR ownership and economic performance.
