European Commission will launch a dedicated scheme aiming to close the gender gap in the male-dominated EU innovation ecosystem. Announcing the scheme on International Women’s day, EU research commissioner Mariya Gabriel described it as the latest move to foster gender equality in the EU innovation ecosystem.
Women TechEU, managed by the European Innovation Council (EIC), will launch its first call at the end of June, offering support to 50 female-led start-ups. In addition, the scheme is open to female innovators and researchers that have already received funding from the EIC.
